Our Team

Alex has been specialising in building automation since early 2015. He designed control systems for several global flagship Apple stores when working for Foster +Partners and worked on installation, configuration and commissioning of the Building Management System (BMS) for Goldman Sachs’ European when working for Schneider Electric. More recently Alex carried out Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning (HVAC) energy optimisation analysis for one of the original building analytics companies, Demand Logic where he was responsible for commercial offices owned/managed by RBS, Santander, BT and Mapp.

Alex set up his own building optimisation consultancy in summer 2020, where he met a group of investors looking to build a dynamic software platform, capable of automating the optimisation of commercial real estate. This led to him co-founding REsustain.

Alex is chartered with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). He read Mechanical Engineering at Bristol University and Building Services Engineering at LSBU, gaining both a Masters in Engineering (MEng) and a Masters in Science (MSc).

Outside work Alex has been playing jazz piano since the age of 8 and enjoys performing at events either as a soloist or as part of an ensemble. He is also very keen on and likes to ski in all conditions and on all types of slopes.
